Big Body Kai Lan and Sharks Steak

Bought this big body Kai Lan from NTUC supermarket, my first time cook kai lan in such size. I just cut it in small slices to ensure it easier to get cook.Just display it in Chinese’s ‘Ba Gua’ matrix. Heehee!Another new ingredient which is I going to try in my first time as well!My typical cooking way! Haahaa!Hmm..I just realized the way to cook and the ingredients for sharks meat is different, not suitable with my ginger chicken ingredients, thought the mushroom XO sauce which I use few days ago to cook the salmon is much better for this sharks steak.

Cooking to me is an art, just like my caricature, having many things to learn in a long going way. Heehee!

Is Tom Cruse operating this machine down there? Haahaa! St James Power Station just next to the cargo loading station.

Salmon with XO Sauce

Just tried cook this dish found on newspaper yesterday. I just used the vegetarian XO sauce which still left in my fridge instead using normal XO sauce. As per this recipe: 400g Salmon, 2 spoons XO sauce, 10 small onions, 2 tea spoon ‘Hua Diao’ Chinese cooking wine, ½ tea spoon sugar, 1 tea spoon soy sauce.Fried the onions, then add in OX sauce, follow by salmon fish.
Add in the pre-made sauces while the salmon turn golden/ yellow color and cook in a fast way and that’s it!Mmmm..nice! Finally I have a new dish to cook!

White Button Mushroom

Bought this white mushrooms from Cold Storage Super Market, and cook with my ginger chicken ingredients.Hmm….white button mushroom in this dish was good to me, I only feel the great unique taste of this mushroom while the time I bite on it; not like black China mushrooms that usually merge its taste in the cooking sauces.

Hmm... Different mushrooms added in this dish will having different outcome. Now I realized that for this particular dish was only suitable to cook with one type of mushroom instead adding assorted mushrooms.

Just add one more vegetables for my “lunch + dinner set” :)

Caricature at Meritus Mandarin Hotel Singapore

Did an event yesterday, great to meet Ivan and Lee Lee doing airbrush tattoo(http://www.sg-airbrushtattoo.blogspot.com/)and wire crafts!!!Look at Ivan’s tools! You should not doubt his skill! Hia hia hia!The building of the new add-on shopping mall on Meritus Mandarin Hotel Singapore is on the move.
Due to the economy crisis, Orchard’s crowd was much lesser, only saw some busking artists down the street.Partial of the new look of Paragon after renovation.O! This is one new thing that belong the 'Make over of Orchard Road Project', nice artistic glass! Not sure whether they will add onj some more stuffe on that, because I see this glass was very fragile. This ‘mini column’ starting from the pedestrian walk from Border bookshop to Forum Shopping Mall was seen since last year’s November until today, I still can’t figure out what is that and what stuff they are going to put on in these ‘Make Over project’

Ginger Pork Belly Slice with Button Mushroom

Bought these assorted button mushrooms from NTUC supermarket. I try to cook with pork belly slices with the ingredients just like my ginger chicken.Hmm..the taste was the same..just the pork belly slightly hard, thought I should adjust the power of the heat and the right timing to put the meat in to the work.I enjoy cooking because it just like painting, you need to practice, need lots experiences and knowledges.

Fake Artist?

As an event artist or entertainer, we know we should be work professionally to ensure our quality and represent. All of us were not born with any special skills or professional; all of us was trained, learnt hard, always practice and work hard plus our passion to present out art during our booking hour.

Anyway, sometime we can finds a minor group of entertainer who having attitude problem, late for the event, fake as a professional and etc.

I not a type who like to insult any people, but recently I did came across a China calligrapher who did not know speak English at all who in the event, was ‘taught’ be a local senior Chinese guest about how to write a correct Chinese word during the event, in front many people!

This Singaporean senior guest claimed that this China artist was written his name in a totally wrong Chinese word as well as the sequences of the calligraphy stokes. He just grab the China artist’s calligraphy pen and show him how to write a correct Chinese word! Seems he had giving this China artist a very hard time!

This incident told us, as an entertainer, as a professional, we must always correct our mistake, always try our best to improve ourselves, no way for us to take anything for granted.
