Caricaturist Outside Fu Lu Shou Building, Rochor Rd

Passing by Fu Lu Shou Building, Rochor Rd this afternoon and came across this China artist who selling his rainbow calligraphy and caricature drawing on cup.He did not put any National Art Council busking license, it was very sure he is illegal. Usually if those China busker being asked where is his/her license, the same answer is: "Forgot to bring".
Found a familiar face on his display: a very famous lowest rate China new immigrant who supply event services for all event companies in Singapore was there!I am not sure this China guy is her relative or not, anywhere that is not my problem, wish all event companies and whatever companies happy using cheapest event talents as they wish. haahaa!

Street Art?

While I heading towards Bugis Mrt Station from Sim Lim Square after bought some computer parts, I was attracted by this ‘Human Statue’ artist from China outside one of the Bugis Mrt entrance. When I look at him one more time, I just realized that this China busking actually is to promote or showing his ‘Falun Gong’ stuffs. There was a China lady giving related leaflet to the pedestrians passing by.I was thinking if this China guy doing busking, that should be not bad. Haahaa!

Foreign Yuppies

Passing by Bugis St Area and saw these foreign Yuppies doing street art for some music performance, whether having busking license or not nobody will care.

Are they from China? Tibet? Nepal? Myamar? Thailand? But obviously they are sure from asian country, haahaa!

From their stylo looks that should be crowded with people, but unfortunately, I have not seen and hear any proper music playing by them after 20minutes wait and see what is happening; even after doing my stuffs in one hour later and passing by this mrt entrance again, still seeing them doing ‘adjusting the tune of the music instrument’ action, never play any proper music or song at all! Oh?

They were some local busking artist who playing music, most of them is blind and some was disabilities, there ware a group of young percussionists playing drums and usually can be found during weekend in orchard Road.

Illegal busking artist at Orchard Road

While the public complained the busking artistes whose playing music and the related activities had spoiling Orchard Road’s high class atmospheres and nice scene, you still can see some ‘impromptu’ or hit and run china artist doing their art in Orchard road.
I found the Chinese rainbow calligraphy was quiet unique, but after met some real professional Chinese rainbow calligrapher from China and Hong Kong; I found that currently only fewer REAL Rainbow Calligrapher in Singapore, most of them, especially who’s doing events like dinner and dance and related events was fake rainbow calligrapher. One Senior and professional calligrapher friend from China told me that one of the most popular China families who doing rainbow calligraphy can dough figurine making, was totally fake artists and seriously spoilt the great quality and graceful name of their traditional China folk art.

But what happened was currently, this China family was the most demanded artistes in the market, because they were the cheapest artist in the industry, as what I heard from one event artist, their special packet for the event booking was every 10 event bookings will be giving 1 free service.

Besides quantity, who care about the quality?

One Shanghai friend told me, he realized too many event companies in Singapore was not interested the artist’s skills level but only interested on hiring the cheapest artist for their events, Due to the globalization nowadays, more and more guests able to differentiate how good of the artist’s skills level, more and more Caucasians when to china and they know what it good artwork and what is fake art pieces.
