Chinese Paper Cutting Preparations

I was ‘so free’ during the whole week due to no booking for event. You sure I am so free? You are wrong! As an entertainer, a professional artist and entertainer which not fake artist who just passing time during the working hour.

One of the thousand ‘must do’ things was some Chinese paper cutting demo booking, so that was lots ‘behind stage job’ to be done before the actual day. That was a lots for paper for me to design, prepare and pre-cut! Ouchi!Guess what I think now? I was thinking I just sit back and relax and the $$$ will come automatically! Heehee!

Let me have a extra big size and high cholesterol pork chop to release my high pressure! Hia hia hia! It was 15cm x 10cm and the thickness was 4cm which I bought from NTUC supermarket and cook by myself! Hia hia hia!

Lezard Cheung’s Art

That was great to meet Lezard during the event last week. I know Lezard more than 6 years if I am not wrong, and I know he is very good in Henna Painting, glitter tattoo and recently doing airbrush tattoo as well.

I thought I also can do henna painting but my strength was not there, haahaa! Glitter tattoo may be can, but I thing for event that’s was enough for me to do caricature, silhouette cutting and fortune telling for commercial events; especially the fortune telling, it always need to involve in many reading upgrade and research to obtain the best level I can.

Besides that, Lezard had won a champion in singing competitions before, he especially goon in Cantonese song and he also a famous in singing Hong Kong famous Star Anita Mui Songs, so he had been named as ‘Singapore’s Anita Mui’.I seen him doing the ‘Anita Mui’ show once so far, that was very funny and interesting, and he really funny and great in his comedy drag show.

Christmas Seasons

The lighting of the decoration of Christmas Seasons had been started yesterday; many shopping malls had well decorated and launched their products sales. Some shopping hired entertainers to pull the crowd, it make the shopping people felt happier and much more interesting.I just came across last week’s newspaper ads, one of the shopping mall near Clarke Quay had engaged lots entertainers from overseas to make this area much more colorful. Thought one of the very interesting entertainments was entertainer from Russia, Ms.Belousova Renata’s Stilt Skater, which doing her stilt walking in roller skate in ‘Zirkus Zirkus Show’ Thought I must take my free slot to go there for this show :)
Oh! They also engaged Australian Roving Acts Act by Scoot and Jamie.

Singapore’s Grand Pix

All the Formula One drivers had arrived to Singapore today! There were many tourist had been arrived earlier form international purposely come to see the world’s 1st F1 Night Race, and also the 1st City Race in the world!

I would say, whether is the good ‘fengshui’ of Singapore or just at the right time, Singapore had made some more ‘Number One’ ranking in the world.

I was dreaming to view this F1 race; unfortunately I was working on this few days for event’s booking. I wish I can draw Lewis Hamilton in life and take a picture with him! Haahaa!
According the channel 8’s ‘Focus’ program, Singapore had obtained 5 yrs contract as the organizer of the Night Race of Formula One; Singapore Tourism board had been sponsored 60% of the expenses for this big event, many volunteers from polytechnics and universities students had act as tour guide to assist the tourists in this event.

The related organizers for this big event, had been arranged many entertainments within the Formula One Track area, more than 100 performers like Techno house DJ Carl Cox from Britain, Indie rock singer-songwriter Cyril Nicolai from France, The Fab Four from Australia, La Ranura Latin Band from Paraguay, Jazz singer Alemay Fernandez from Singapore and etc. will entertain fans at more than 10 stages around the circuit.

I wish I can watch as many of them as possible! 

Thru this big event, it will be boot up Singapore’s economy, plus the coming Youth Olympic in 2010 and the completion building of the Casino, I believe Singapore will attracted large amount of tourists, and it will became an energetic and forever young country.

The most important thing to me: more and more event booking and jobs for me! Hia hia hia!

Caricature for Morgan Stanley Dinner & Dance

To night completed caricature drawing for Morgan Stanley Dinner & Dance at Marriott Hotel Singapore. It was great to met many nice and gentle guests, and having lots handsome guy and beautiful girls and tai-tai (rich women)! Lot of beautiful girls take the queue to let me stare at her! Wah! Really? Haahaa! The answer is definite not! Just because I am the uncle who hired by the event company in-charge to draw the complimentary caricature for the guests!

One of My Good friend Rama Chandran

Rama Chandran, my ex-colleague who works in a bank together, was the person who brings me in to the entertainment line in 1990.

He was a part-time emcee at that time, his ambition was a movie director or run a movie production house or became an actor if I am not wrong.

All I remember was the scene that I watching Chandran doing comedy drama in shopping on the stage, that time Eileen Wee (now became emcee/model/writer and etc) was also acting together with him.

Rama Chandran is one of the famous people in this line during that period.
He was involve in Michael Chiang's hit comedy play, drama version of ARMY DAZE, in 1987.

Of course I involved in this drama as well --------- as an Audient !!! Haahaa!

Rama Chandran taught me lots thing, he is one of my best friend. He continuous runs his production house D’Rama Production after having his movie studies from New York, that’s about at leas more than 10 years ago.

Time fly very fast. Chandran had married and having a nice family.

Hey Chandran, tell you, I still no girl!!! (still single and became uncle liao! Hee hee)

10 years later, you will see me sitting at kopitiam having beer, when I became an ‘old uncle’.

A guy draw using 2 hands?

A guy draw using two hands? Yes, here I am (in Singapore).
In this insdustry, I am the only person who drawing using two hands since 1995.
They called it "Ambidexture".

I am not the best, but I always try to deliver the best to the guests and the organiser who hired my service.

Singapore Event / Party Entertainer

Before I became an Event and Party entertainer, I started as a crew that carry the event equipment such as big amplifier, wires etc, it happened that an event company asked me to do caricature for dinner & dance and family day, since then, I start as a freelance Caricaturist about 1992 until now.

Other then Caricature drawing, I start to do the Silhouette Cutting (Shadow Cutting) since 2002, and start to do Palm reading since 2003.

Entertainment line is a fun but also a very competitive business.
